Parenting Educator (part-time)
The Parenting Education Program at Forty Carrots Family Center is looking to hire a compassionate and knowledgeable individual interested in developing trusting, nurturing, and supportive relationships with families from diverse backgrounds. Parenting Educators provide information, support, and encouragement to parents and caregivers during the crucial early years of life. Qualified individuals must demonstrate the ability to work with parents and their young children (0-5 years of age) in group and individualized settings and must show the ability to engage families through a strength-based approach. A bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, a minimum qualification of an associate’s degree with 2 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education, General Education, Counseling, Social Work, Human Services or related field and experience working with children and families is required. The position also requires a valid Driver License and proof of automobile insurance. The available position is part-time (approximately 16-20 hours per week scheduled on weekdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM). The anticipated hiring range is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour based on education and experience. Preschool Floater (full-time)
Forty Carrots Preschool is seeking a caring and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to serve as Preschool Floater. Our NAEYC accredited program has low student-to-teacher ratio and a commitment to individualized curiosity, care, and respect. Using developmentally appropriate practices and play-based activities, our Preschool Floaters support the Classroom Educators and work together to promote learning and growth in the areas of social, emotional, physical, language & literacy, science & technology, mathematics, social studies, and the arts. Our Preschool Educators and Floaters employ innovative, creative approaches to learning that stimulate higher level analytical thinking and cognitive abilities, while also ensuring a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore their curiosity and talents and expand their awareness and abilities. This full-time (35 to 38 hrs/wk), benefits eligible, teaching position requires a minimum of an associate degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education or related field; bachelor’s degree is preferred. Summer VPK Credential is also preferred. Florida DCF Child Care Personnel Training must be completed within 90 days of hire. Knowledge of Creative Curriculum is helpful but not required.
